Nicky was a street rescue that had been kept on a chain.  His neck had some scaring and wounds when he came to our foster.  When he was vetted, it was determined that he was Heartworm Positive.  He has been treated for this condition and will need to remain on continuous and dedicated monthly Heartworm preventative.  Because he is young and strong, the vet believes that he will have a normal lifespan and didn't detect heart damage.

Nicky works for food and has been learning obedience commands very quickly.  He simply needs someone that will care for him.  He is affectionate and wants to please.  Loads easily into a vehicle and loves to go for rides.   CAUTION:  His breed is one that has a double coat which keeps him warm and protected while working livestock, but for an everyday back yard dog, he will shed that undercoat regularly.
